Thailand’s machinery sales rockets up 25% to US$ 2 billion, Japan dominates

Matichon, a Thai press for the progressive intellect, reports Japan machinery makers will dominate Thailand’s machinery trade show, Metalex 2013, taking about 65% of the trade show space. The press reports that 65% space capture, is in preparation for many Japanese firms to move their operation to Thailand, in preparation for the ASEAN’s AEC concept. The press reports for the first 2 quarters of this year, machinery equipment sales in Thailand stood at about US$ 2 billion, up about 25% from the same quarter in previous years. This year the market is estimated at US$ 3 to 4 billion. The press reports Thaiand inports of machinery, was the most from Japan, followed by China, Taiwan, Korea and the USA, with machinery from Japan sales about US$ 1 billion.
