Prachachart Turakij, a business newspaper in Thailand, quoting Morning Star Research, reports for the first 9 month of 2013, the amount of money Thais invested in mutual funds that invested in USA, Eurozone and Japan, went up about 100% to stand at about US$400 million. These mutual funds, according to the paper, returned about 14% when mutual funds that invested in Thailand, returned about 4%. On the popularity of these global funds, the paper quoted Morning Star Research, Kitikhun Thanaratpattanakij, saying the Thais were riding the fund flow, out of emerging markets to leading global markets such as Japan and USA.
