Chiang Mai tourism: Latin America, Europeans & China up, but Middle East gone

Prachachart Turakij, a business newspaper in Thailand, reports some significant changes in the tourism landscape of Chiang Mai. Chiang Mai, is a northern Thai city, that is a hub of tourism, often rated one of the best tourism globally. According to the press, tourist from the Middle East, has mostly dried up and disappeared from un-known factors, where tourist from Latin America is an emerging segment, together with European tourist, returning to Chiang Mai as Eurozone area economy improves. The press also reports that tourist from China continues to be strong, lured to the city from the hot Chinese movie, “Lost in Thailand” which us about Chiang Mai. The press reports tourist arrival at Chiang Mai international airport is up about 20% so far this year, against the same period lest year. (Source)
