A long running index poll by Thailand’s bank for agriculture and agriculture cooperative says Thailand farmers “Happiness Index” hitting new highs. The index stood at 76 at the start of the year, but latest poll shows the index at 89. The “Happiness Index” was highest for farmers in the Issan Region, while Southern farmers, and has the lowest happiness level, perhaps, related to the weak rubber prices. The bank says the government should try to find agricultural suitable land and grant them to farmers so farmers can farm on their own land and that the bank’s lending activity to farmers have helped farmers.
