Thailand’s shopping-center giant, Central, shrugs off concerns, on target with US$500 million expansion

Narit Cheuykrin, head of finance at Thailand’s shopping center giant, central, have shrugged off concern of middle class debt and slower economy, saying central is still on expansion target. Narit sais the current recession is a technical recession, caused by banks having liquidity problem and not lending, causing Central to have some difficulties. Narit said Central still plans to build 4 to 5 projects in the next few years, according to earlier plans, spending about US$500 million. He also said Central plans to expand in ASEAN, with one project. (Source)
