Thai based hospitality group, Onyz, adds serviced residences management in Beijing, Chengdu and Guangzhou

Bangkok-based Onyx Hospitality Group, managing some of Thailand’s best hospitality brand-names,  is expanding its serviced residences brand, Shama, in China. The company has recently completed three new management contracts that will bring the high end serviced residences to Beijing, Chengdu and Guangzhou, adding to existing properties in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Dalian. Earlier, a contract was signed fro Shama Heda-Hangzhou, which will be completed in the third quarter of 2013. Shama Beijing is scheduled for completion in 2015 and will comprise 123 apartment style units while Shama Chengdu will have 101 units. The 112-unit Shama Guangzhou property will open in 2016 offering a rooftop garden, a fitness centre and a breakfast lounge. “The recently-secured management contracts in China reinforce Shama’s position and presence as a market leader in Greater China. This is especially the case in second tier cities like Chengdu, Hangzhou, Suzhou and Tianjin – cities that we will be focusing on to expand Shama’s ever increasing portfolio,” said Tommy Lai, Onyx’s vice president of development for North Asia. ”These cities show the most growth potential for the quality living and lifestyle that Shama has to offer.” ONYX Hospitality Group is a leading hotel management company that combines the expertise of a truly global executive team with the hospitality excellence for which Asia is renowned.
