With some Red Shirts, like Saichon Phaebua and Phinit Channarong acquitted in the case of the Central World arson in 2010, many wonder if the theory that Security Force burnt Central World to blame the Red Shirts is possible. And perhaps that is why, former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra has recently twittered that 10 million baht reward is waiting for each person giving information which leads to the arrest of an arsonist of the Central World shopping complex on May 19, 2010. “Last night after I announced that I will reward the person who can catch the CentralWord arsonists with 10 million baht, my foreign friends phoned me and told me that they want to join me as well,” a tweet said. “Now, I say that each person who can catch the CentralWorld arsonists will be given 10 million baht. For example, if five arsonists are arrested and the court rules them guilty, I’ll give 50 million baht immediately. “I invite people of all political colours, together with the army, police, Department of Special Investigation (DSI) officials, firefighters and staff at Central World to help find the truth,” Thaksin said. As Phinit and Saichon have been detained without bail since their arrests on 19 May and 7 June 2010, respectively.
