King Hamad & Thai PM Yingluck, stressing Bahrain investment facilities & incentives to businessmen

His Majesty King Hamad of Bahrain, in Thailand for a state visit, yesterday held official talks with Thai Premier Yingluck Shinawatra. They discussed ways of boosting relations in all fields and latest regional and global development. He underlined that his current visit will have a positive impact on increasing the volume of bilateral trade and pave the way for the private sector in both countries to start joint projects, in view of the investment facilities and incentives provided by Bahrain for investors. Bahrain is in a major drive to diversify its economy. The King lauded the crucial role played by the Joint Bahraini-Thai Committee in consolidating bilateral co-operation in all fields. His Majesty commended the efforts of the Thai Prime Minister to bolster ties with Bahrain. They reviewed steps taken by the two countries to consolidate their relations. His Majesty also hailed the contribution of the Thai community to Bahrain’s economy. He praised Thai companies’ decisions to operate in the kingdom. The King affirmed that Bahrain was specially interested in enhancing relations with Thailand to avail of its expertise in the fields of trade, economy and food security. Bilateral trade between Bahrain and Thailand has increased by about 40 per cent or equivalent to US$500 million following Yingluck’s trip to Bahrain last year. Thai and Bahrain private sector are planning to build a distribution center for Thai goods in the Middle East, in Bahrain (Source).
